A Stand-alone Solar PV system consisted of a 15,900W of Solar Module Array, A Maintenance Free Battery bank of 4,000AH, and a 15KW Pure sine wave inverter Unit. This system runs computers for data entry, Vaccine refrigeration, Lighting, and other medical equipment in the health facility
On average, Midigo Health Centre IV serves more than 1,400 patients weekly, approximately 10 percent of whom are refugees. The system will provide better lighting and improve service delivery, which was previously solely dependent on generator power. The transition to solar energy supply is not only environment-friendly but also reduces expenditure on fuel and the high costs of generator maintenance
This Project was funded by the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), the broadcasting arm of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and supervised by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in the Yumbe district in Uganda
